Meeting Clarence - Penumbra Black Plague
I wanted to draw some more, serious Penumbra things. Because beside my love for Clarence’s and Philip characters, I really like the game by itself and everything in it.
I’m not sure what to say that I already did.I really do like Clarence and all of what is happening to him and Philip.A piece of a huge entity somehow trapped into the brain of a 30 years old physic teacher, starting to become an individual personality , by having the choice to chose a name. His character is really dark and his selfishness, cowardness and of course sillyness is to be percieved during the whole game as a progression.
It starts with refusal of becoming one individual and wishing to die to go back to his ‘home’ , then , he starts to wish to become only one and gets scared of death ( the Tuurngait aware of his change and ordering the other to kill him with Philip ) begging Philip to keep him with him even if he hates him ,and then. Death.
I’m certain Clarence actualy gave Philip some laughs he really needed after all these days he spent underground. His death was also a huge impact on Philip’s final choice.
They both clearly wish the other death. But they both have so many commun points.
I like to keep the idea of an interrogatory room for Philip and Clarence’s exchanges, since Philip’s mind was strong enough to keep him in his control.
